Game Dev Tycoon is a simulation video game where you create videogame ( #inception ) . The sharing and distribution is really awesome :
Developers make an pirated version and put it on some illegal download website, via torrent ( warning, using torrent as the p2p distribution technology is not illegal at all, it’s just a way to share stuff, it’s neutral) and a legal one, you can buy on their website and steam.
You can see here the message of love we get with a legal copy. For the pirated version, it include a scenario where every videogame you make and try to sell are pirated and you get no money ( or like no money ). So it’s much more complicated or nearly impossible to be viable and your company finish to bankrupt .
